Salt Lake City is one of my favorite places to visit because it is where Temple Square resides. Not only is it full of beautiful green landscapes and gorgeous places like Park City, it also has some of the most beautiful temples on the earth. I just came back from a trip and had to share some of my favorite pictures from Temple Square.
These are wonderful! Love the 3rd and 4th ones--the perspective of the temple behind Joseph and Hyrum is WONDERFUL, and I love the way you've framed Moroni in the window. Great great shots!!!
It's amazing how much detail is in those temples! Wowsers. I live one state away and have never even thought to visit. I'm not Mormon, but can admire all that handiwork...can non-Mormons visit the temples too? On that first one, I think if you cloned out that greenery in the top left...it would make a good photo, great!
Really beautiful... I was thinking the same thing as Heather. Can non-mormons visit the temples? I think that would be something I would love to do. Gorgeous architecture here! You did a fantastic job capturing it--I love the steeple through the window. Very creative!
I agree with all the above. But my favorites are #3 with Hyrum and Joseph with the spire as background, and the other with Moroni framed by the window. Wonderful work. FYI to the comments above. Anyone can walk around the outside grounds and the temple buildings themselves - lots of photo ops there. And anyone can attend the open house of a newly-constructed temple for a complete tour of the interior. Once a temple is dedicate however, only members in good standing can enter. Her pics of the statues above were actually taken from outside the temple and inside an adjoining building - The Joseph Smith Memorial - where anyone can go. Be sure to be aware if a temple is under construction near you so you can attend the Open House! ML
Wow! Thank you guys for all your wonderful comments! It's so funny to see other people's views on your own pictures, because I wasn't even all that fond of the one with the steeple framed in the oval, but apparently that is the favorite. Hee Hee
These are such awesome pics!!! Great, great job with them.... add me to the list of the oval framed Moroni. :) I live in Logan, so I'm pretty familiar with the temple thing, but you did such a beautiful job!
These are amazing! I've been wanting to go down there (since I'm like two minutes away) and shoot some pictures, but haven't yet. You have inspired me. :)
